The Smile no one can see within the Dark (PRP 8/2010)

To: The Smile No One Can See Within the Dark
author:  Pam Robinson Porterfield.......Do you still have yours?

I Light the candles and raise a toast
To all the ghosts that swallowed most
Of what I lost at greatest cost…..
The smile no one can see within the dark

This eve, is found a lonely solemn trace
Where there is no time, there is no face.
For Shadows cloak the Specter in this place,
The smile no one can see within the dark

The champagne glass clutched tightly by the stem
Releases chilly, bursting bubbles from the rim
Such Tiny tickles fail to bring with them
The smile no one can see within the dark

In secret crouch the stories in silhouette,
Of Tears that soil the cheeks of deep regret.
Futile flickers and tiny bubbles searching yet….
For the smile no one can see within the dark.
